Dr David Williams - University College London Hospital, UK
Dr David Williams is a Consultant Obstetric Physician at The Institute for Women’s Health, University College London Hospital (UCLH). He trained in renal medicine and general internal medicine before specialising in obstetric medicine.

Professor Gordon Smith - Cambridge University, UK
Professor Gordon Smith is Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Cambridge and a Senior Investigator of the National Institute for Health Research (UK). His research focuses on the use of maternal, ultrasonic and biochemical data to determine associations with adverse pregnancy outcome and he is the principal investigator in a prospective cohort study of unselected first pregnancies. He has published in national and international journals including Nature, NEJM, JAMA and Lancet.

Dr John McBain – MelbourneIVF, AUST
Dr McBain was appointed Medical Director of Melbourne IVF in 2006. He is a member of The Low Cost IVF Foundation which establishes affordable IVF in third world countries and the Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Melbourne IVF.

Professor Mark Brown – St George Hospital, AUST
Professor Brown is a Renal and Obstetric Medicine Physician at St George Hospital and Professor of Renal Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. His clinical activities include general nephrology with specific interests in the fields of obstetric medicine, transplantation and hypertension, including hypertension in pregnancy. He has specific interests in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Research activities have centred on scientific and clinical studies of hypertesion and renal disease in pregnancy, with publication of several book chapters and over 160 peer review papers.

Professor Paul Gatenby – The Australian National University, AUST
Paul Gatenby is a graduate of the University of Tasmania. He undertook his post-graduate training in immunology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and a PhD from the University of Sydney. His post-doctoral years were spent at Stanford University. After 14 years on the staff of RPAH he moved to Canberra to develop the Canberra Clinical School for the University of Sydney. In 2002 he became Foundation Dean of the ANU Medical School. He has a lifelong clinical and research interest in autoimmune diseases and pregnancy.

Dr Mathew Sermer –Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto, CANADA
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada. He is the Associate Chief of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Head of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Mount Sinai Hospital. He is also Head of the Medical Disorders of Pregnancy Program, Mount Sinai Hospital.

A/Prof Leonie Callaway - University of Queensland, AUST
Leonie holds a conjoint position as UQ Head, Royal Brisbane Clinical School and Acting
Executive Director of Medical Services, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Leonie
completed her PhD in obstetric medicine in 2007. Her ongoing research interests
include obesity and inflammation in pregnancy, the role of the maternal metabolism on
fetal programming and neonatal body composition, lifestyle interventions in pregnancy,
and the role of pregnancy in unmasking the risks of future chronic disease. Leonie also
has a major interest in medical education.

Professor Robyn North - Maternal and Fetal Medicine, King’s College London, UK
Robyn North is a Professor of Maternal and Fetal Medicine at Kings College London. She specialised in internal medicine, with a subspecialty focus in obstetric medicine. Her main research interest is preeclampsia, in particular screening and prevention of the condition. Since 2004, she has led the international Screening for Pregnancy Endpoint (SCOPE) project consortium to develop novel methods of screening for preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction and preterm birth.

Professor Phyllis August - Medical College of Cornell University, New York, USA
Phyllis August ,M.D., M.P.H., is the Ralph A. Baer, M.D. Professor of Medical Research, and Professor of Public Health, and Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, and Chief of the Hypertension Center at Cornell. She is the Founding Director of the Theresa and Eugene Lang Center for Research at New York Hospital Queens.

Professor David McIntyre is Director of Endocrinology and Obstetric Medicine at Mater Health Services, South Brisbane and Head of the Mater Clinical School of the University of Queensland.

Dr Janet Rowan - National Women's Hospital, Auckland, NZ
Janet Rowan is an internist working as an “Obstetric Physician” since 1994 at the National Women’s Hospital, Auckland. Janet run the diabetes in pregnancy service, with over 600 deliveries a yearabout 80 women with type 2 diabetes, 35 with type 1 diabetes and the rest with GDM. She was the principal investigator in the Metformin in Gestational diabetes trial (MiG) and completed The Offspring Follow Up (TOFU) at 2 years of age.

Professor Kerin O'Dea - University of South Australia, AUST
Professor O’Dea took up the position as Director of the Sansom Institute for Health Research at the
University of South Australia in early 2009. Her current research is focussed on diet and lifestyle in the
prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases (obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular
diseases), with a focus on elucidating the causal pathways and identifying critical intervention points. She
has a particular interest in the therapeutic potential of traditional diets – especially Aboriginal huntergatherer
and Mediterranean diets – and is committed to a research approach that spans the spectrum
from the basic biomedical to the population.
Professor Lesley McCowen – University of Auckland, NZ
Lesley McCowan is a Professor, sub‐specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine and Head of the Academic Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Auckland. Her clinical interest is in management of high risk pregnancies especially those with fetal growth restriction and preeclampsia.
Professor Euan Wallace – Monash University, AUST
Professor Euan Wallace graduated in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where he completed his research and clinical training before joining Monash University in 1996. He is the Carl Wood Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Monash University and in 2010 was appointed Director of the Ritchie Centre for Baby Health Research, Monash Institute of Medical Research. His own research interests are in fetal growth and development, pre-eclampsia, and stem cell biology. He is also the Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Southern Health where he has a clinical appointment in maternal-fetal medicine.

Dr Catherine Nelson-Piercy - Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, UK
Catherine Nelson-Piercy is a Consultant Obstetric Physician at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals Trust and Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in London. Her undergraduate studies were at King’s College, Cambridge University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital. She trained as a physician, and was taught Obstetric Medicine by Professor Michael de Swiet. She specialises in the care of women with medical problems in pregnancy. Dr Nelson-Piercy runs special joint clinics for women with renal disease, cardiac, and rheumatic disorders in pregnancy. She offers pre-pregnancy counselling for women with pre-existing medical problems and those with problems in previous pregnancies.

Dr Chris White - Prince of Wales Hospital, AUST
Dr Chris White is the Director of Endocrinology at The Prince of Wales Hospital & Senior Staff Specialist at the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick, Sydney. He is the Director of the Endocrinology Laboratory Services at South Eastern Area Laboratory Services (SEALS), Randwick. Dr White is also the Director of the Centre for Osteoporosis and Bone Mineral Research located on the combined Randwick Hospitals Campus and is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in Medicine at the University of New South Wales. He obtained his PhD in molecular endocrinology at The Garvan Institute of Medical Research and continues to maintain research interest in vitamin D and sex steroid biology in relation to osteoporosis and bone mineral metabolism.
